This option ensures exclusivity for the individual or group with a coach especially assigned to cater for your individual needs. Transported or self-drive option available.
If you have previous surfing experience and wish to improve on your skills, kindly inform us at the time of booking so we can update your coach.
Extra participants will be charged at group lesson rates. For groups of 7 of more wanting exclusivity, regular group rates apply.
Our headquarters are located in Camps Bay so that we have easy accessibility to both coastlines of the Peninsula. Lessons take place at the most suitable beach depending on the conditions on the day of your booking. Surf lessons are 2-hours long and include the use of:
• 4:3mm wetsuit

• wax
• We use quality 4:3mm wetsuits to keep you warm throughout the year. Wetsuits are well maintained-washed and rinsed after each use. We use beginner specific softboards for those who have never touched a surfboard or only surfed a handful of times. These boards are easy to catch waves with and make standing easier as they are stable. If you have a bit more surfing experience and are wanting to use a regular epoxy/fibreglass board, kindly let us know at the time of booking.
• For the self-drive option, we will advise (via email or sms) the beach we will be operating the lesson on at least 24 hours in advance.

If you are wanting a lesson outside our regular lesson time slots, we will try our best to accomodate your request if we are able to.

This package includes 4 x 2-hour group surf lessons which can be taken over a period of a few days up to 6 weeks-whatever best suits your schedule. We cover everything from surf safety and ocean awareness, to paddling technique, how to stand up and surf the waves, turning and trimming green waves to wave selection and rules of the surf.
After four surf lessons you are guaranteed to be 'stoked' and ready to venture off into the appropriate 'beginner' surf on your own. We will advise what equipment is best for you and should you decide to purchase your own gear, we will even guide you to the stores with the best deals.
If you would prefer to 'try before you buy' we do offer the option to book for an 'Experience the Stoke' lesson and upgrade to the 'Uber-Stoked' package should you be 'stoked' after your first lesson. Simply pay the price difference and we will count your first lesson as 1 of 4. For online bookings, please let us know the day you'd like to do your first lesson and then email us the desired dates for lesson 2, 3 and 4.
Surf lessons are 2-hours long and include the use of:
• 4:3mm wetsuit
• suitable surfboard
• leash
• For the transported option, we offer pick ups from locations in Cape Town city and surrounds (see pick up area list below). If you are located outside of the pick up area, we will ask you to meet us at a pre-arranged location in the city. If you are staying at a private residence/Airbnb etc, we will ask you to meet us at one of our regular pick up points closest to your accommodation. We will transport you to the beach in our comfortable van or our original surf school VW golf. Please note that whilst you will be assigned your private surf coach at the beach, you may share the transfer to the beach with other group lesson participants. If you are wanting a lesson outside our regular lesson time slots, we will try our best to accomodate your request if we are able to.
• The following is the pick up schedule for our morning and afternoon lesson slots (please note the suburb your lodging is located in to determine your approximate pick up time):
• Camps Bay: 8:00-8:15am OR 1:00-1:15pm
• City & Sea Point : 8:15-8:30am OR 1:15-1:30pm

Table Mountain Hikes And Scrambles - Full Day Hike - 3 People (Per person)

Table Mountain has many beautiful footpaths and exciting scrambling routes to explore; and with one of our highly qualified mountain guides you can be assured of an excellent and safe adventure. We have been guiding on Table Mountain for more years than anyone else, ensuring you of the best possible experience on TM.

We offer half-day and full-day programs on Table Mountain and the surrounding peaks like Lion’s Head and Devils Peak or further along the Peninsula Mountains from Silvermine to Cape Point.

Half-day, Full-day & Overnight hikes

We offer various options on Table Mountain.

Our popular half-day hikes normally make use of the well-known Cableway to descend the mountain after hiking to the top.

Full-day hikes allow for seeing more of the mountain and often involve hiking both up and down, avoiding the cable car.

We also offer overnight hiking on the Hoerikwaggo Trail or by making use of the various guest houses situated conveniently along the foot of the mountain. Please see our Table Mountain Trail page and consult with us for overnight hiking options

What is scrambling?

Scrambling refers to very easy rock climbing and/or boulder hopping needed to negotiate an obstacle. On scrambling routes you can expect to have to use your hands to hold onto the rock and you may have to cross more difficult and exposed terrain. Our guides will always assist you on these parts of the route and may even rope you up for some of the climbing to ensure your safety. Following a scrambling route is an exciting and fun way of getting up the mountain and seeing the lesser known parts, away from the main tourist routes.

Who can join a hike?

Any reasonably healthy and fit person is welcome. You do not have to be a marathon runner or even a regular hiker!

Our guides set an acceptable pace that suits the group and the terrain. Because of the proximity of the mountain to the City we are seldom pressed for time and we allow generous opportunity to relax and enjoy nature

Difficulty & fitness

There are so many options available for hiking on Table Mountain that we able to cater for all age groups and all levels of fitness and experience.

Most of our Table Mountain hikes are booked as Private Guiding, so the itinerary is flexible and we can consult with you about the various options before choosing a route.e

Whale are Seasonal ( June - Nov)

Witness the majestic Southern Right whales that come to the Cape each season to breed and calve. Whale season typically runs between June and November in the Cape, and each season, large numbers of whales can be seen along the coast. Bird Watching

Travel with Pelagic Encounters for a memorable birding experience.

If you would like to see and photograph albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters, then this trip is for you.

Boat Tours to view and photograph seabirds from Gansbaai, South Africa.

One of the most exciting aspects of a pelagic birding experience is the possibility of encountering a very rare bird.

There are no boundaries out at sea, fronts and winds can cause birds to travel far off their normal course.

Over 50 species of ocean going birds have been recorded in the waters around South Africa, including 16 of the world’s 21 albatross species.

What to expect:

When booking a bird watching trip with Dyer Island Cruises, we will contact you a day before to confirm times with you. Upon arrival at the Great White House, you will receive a brief introductory talk about the conditions, route, safety and what to look for. Coffee, tea and rusks will also be served once you have arrived and sandwiches and beverages will be available on board.

The vessel can take a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 clients, each guest are fitted with comfortable life-jackets and waterproof jackets. Always bring warm clothing as it is cooler at sea than on land. The boat carries latest modern navigational equipment including a life raft for emergencies.
