Our Orange River Rafting tips are owner run – We love rafting the Orange River Gorge as this is one of the most untouched pieces of nature you will probably ever get to experience
Our Orange River Rafting trips never exceed the 20 guests per Orange River Rafting group – We love to have small intimate groups on the river with also less of an environmental impact and also more attention to our guests.
Our group sizes can however be larger if you’re a corporate, school group or just a large family.
This section of river also provides for ample fun with white water rapids and spectacular camp sites.

— BOOK NOW – Limited space.

The Orange River Gorge is the most spectacular and easy runnable white water section of the Orange River Rafting Spencerian.

Deep in the Kalahari, the river cuts through a moonscape of granite cliffs with the amazing Gariep Falls tumbling into the Orange River Gorge.

We run downriver over several days. Our Camp sites along the river are as unique as the experience.

The Highlight of the Orange River rafting trip will be the portage into the gorge itself – Once at the bottom of the Gorge we paddle a few meters up to where we see the Waterfall dropping into the Gorge itself.

Here we will abseil or lower everything in to the Gorge +/- 40 meters down to the River below the Waterfall.

The Orange River Gorge is a very remote destination and only accessible by foot or rafting – it is one of the most undisturbed sights you will ever witness. This experience will be one of the highlights of our expedition if not your life.

We will also spend some considerable time “monster fishing” and if you don’t know how to fish one of our experienced guides will assist you.

At night around a small contained fire we will look up at the stars and experience a sight unlike you have ever witnessed.

If your interested let us know and we will forward you the Information you need – Our Orange river rafting expedition experience will ensure you have memories for a life time. This is a must for any bucket list – we also cater for large groups and families and will adapt our itinerary to fit your needs and requirements.

What you need to know about the Adventure tour
The adventure tour has the same starting point as the
Heritage tour, but continues to lead deeper into the cave. At the end of the Heritage tour you will descend to where the 30 minutes of adventure starts....
ADVENTURE TOUR STARTS HERE

From this point the tour becomes progressively more difficult. JACOB'S LADDER, with its over 2OO steps, leads through THE GRAND HALL into THE AVENUE, and then the low confines of LUMBAGO ALLEY.

Towards the end of the Grand Hall you will pass LOT'S CHAMBER, where a group of stalagmites represent the biblical Lot, his two daughters, and his wife, who turned into a pillar of salt. Alongside the viewing platform is another hollowed-out stalagmite known as King Arthur's Throne.

Beyond THE AVENUE you enter LUMBAGO ALLEY. It is 85 metres long. For the most part the roof is low and for 28 metres of the Lumbago Walk the roof height seldom exceeds 1,2 metres.

Emerging from this tunnel you can glimpse delicate roof crystals and get to view some of the lovely smaller grottos.

The roof of the Crystal Palace is decorated with "Hanging crystal gardens", adorned with ice-like crystals and weirdly contorted helictites. A light to the left reveals a translucent crystal wall.

Moving on to the next chamber, you pass an active candle-wax column in delicate golden hues.

Steps lead downwards into the cellar-like chambers of KING SOLOMON'S MINES. The cavern gets its name from a formation high up near the roof, resembling a rotund king with a bearded face, wearing a crystal crown. His throne is mounted on an inverted Protea, South Africa's national flower.

Alongside the throne, much to the children's delight, hangs a gigantic ice-cream cone. The roof of this chamber is decorated with a fantasy of amazing helictites.

An iron ladder ascends from King Solomon's Mines into the unique caving adventure of The Devil's Chimney section. First you have to crawl through THE TUNNEL OF LOVE, a low passageway some 74 centimetres high, narrowing at one point to about 3O centimetres, where stouter cavers are apt to receive a loving squeeze!

This tunnel brings you to THE ICE CHAMBER, with its fascinating shelfstone ledge high around the outer wall. This ledge indicates the level of a cave pool from a bygone age. The pool's level ultimately subsided, leaving only a shallow pool in the cavern today.

Next comes THE COFFIN, a hexagonally-shaped hole in the shelfstone, which is the beginning and end of the final circular route. The cave opens out again as we pass through the ICE-CREAM PARLOUR into the colourful beauty of the DEVIL'S WORKSHOP. The brilliantly-coloured ceiling is decorated with many delicate helictites.

The way ahead leads over a steep hump, which leads you into the DEVIL'S KITCHEN, with its notorious DEVIL'S CHIMNEY. The guide points to a narrow crack in the wall - surely someone's idea of a joke! But no, this is the DEVIL'S CHIMNEY. Peering in you see a steep shaft about 45 centimetres wide which leads upwards for some 3,5 metres. There is a light at the top. Amidst an assortment of grunts, groans and, usually, hysterical laughter you squirm through the chimney into another larger chamber, only to be confronted by an even smaller opening.

Using 'Leopard Crawl' to wriggle forward you approach a low, wide slot - the only exit route. It is only 27 centimetres high.

Some guides recommend a head-first 'posting', which may be likened to a rebirth experience, as one emerges infant-like from the narrow crevice. The alternative of feet-first results in an easy slide (depending on girth or chest-size) down the smooth, sloping wall and being deposited on the flowstone floor below. You have now reached the furthest point of the tour.
A short scramble leads you back to the Coffin, through the Ice Chamber and Tunnel of Love and back down the iron ladder into King Solomon's Mines and back along the previous route, emerging into the welcome light of day at the cave entrance.

The Cape waters are littered with thousands of shipwrecks, recent and ancient, on the shore and in deep water. Common wreck dives are the Maori, the Astor, the Katzu Maru, the Smitswinkel Bay wrecks (of which there are five) and the SAS Pietermaritzburg.

The commonly dived wrecks vary in depth and can range between 12m to 40m. We can take you to several wrecks and will pick them depending on your dive qualification.

Reef Diving

Diving in and around Cape Town offers one a huge range of possibilities: from majestic kelp forests to cold-water coral gardens and deep reefs.

The Western Cape is the smallest complete floral kingdom in the world and this diversity is mirrored underwater with the unique positioning of the peninsula at the junction of two major ocean currents. False Bay has been recognised as a biodiversity hotspot due to the numbers of endemic animals living in these waters.

The shallower reefs are very colourful and are dominated by kelp forests with an understorey of delicate marine organisms. The deeper reefs host sea whips and fans, an abundance of reef fish, small sharks, octopuses, nudibranchs, crabs, sponges and cold water corals.

Many of our reefs allow you to do really good multi-level dives, with depths between 30m and 10m.

Kelp Forest Dive

One of our more popular kelp forest sites is at Pyramid Rock where we have a good possibility of encountering the Sevengill shark, which is also called the Cow shark or Broadnose sevengill. The maximum depth is only 12 metres making it ideal for beginner and junior divers to join. The shallow depths and picturesque environment makes this is the ideal environment for photographers aiming to capture these sharks in their natural habitat.

The Cowsharks aggregate in the shallow channel between Pyramid Rock and the shore. If the sharks are present, there can be up to 30 sharks in the aggregation. Their curious and inquisitive nature means there is no baiting involved and we rely solely on a specific area where these animals are known to aggregate. Aside from the main attraction, the kelp forest is a beautiful environment to explore. There is an abundance of life in the kelp forest understorey.

We do have times when the sharks are not present in the area – please enquire about recent sightings when booking to have realistic expectations.

If the Cowsharks are not evident, then look out for the Spotted Gully sharks, which attain 1.7 metres in length. This is a timid shark more easily approached by freedivers than SCUBA divers. Then there are several species of catshark: the Pyjama catshark, Puffadder Shyshark, Leopard shyshark and Dark shyshark. These smaller sharks are between 50cm and 1.2 metres in length. The huge Short-tailed rays can occasionally be spotted. These rays grow up to 2 metres across the disk.

Cape Fur Seal Dive

The Cape Fur Seal dive is a super fun and interactive dive and one of the signature dives that Cape Town has offered for more than two decades. The seals are very playful and love to show their acrobatic skills to divers.

These seals are used to divers and are not shy at all, they will often jump in the water in large numbers to come and investigate and play with divers.

We dive at Partridge Point, an exposed haul-out spot for seals. There are times when the water can be rough at the site due to waves or currents. We will make a careful assessment before entering the water and reserve the right to divert the divers to a more protected site if conditions warrant it.

A shallow section of the reef, known as the amphitheatre, is the best spot to interact with the Seals. The deeper sections of the reef offer beautiful marine life, swim-throughs and large sea fans.

See Cape Point from a different angle. Get that photo you always see in the National Geographic magazine. Make a pass through Smitswinkel bay and Buffels bay past the Dias crosses and close to the cliffs below the historic lighthouse that leads up to the point.

Visit the Roman Rock Lighthouse – the only lighthouse on our coast to have been erected on a single rock.

We often see penguins, whales and a whole range of seabirds on trips down to the tip of the peninsula.

Seal Snorkeling

Jump into the water with the Cape fur Seals and have a blast with the clowns of the sea. On our way back from Cape Point we stop at Partridge Point that is home to a few hundred seals.

They are extremely curious and playful and will entertain divers and snorkelers alike. They mostly hang around the surface when they are in the water but will dive down to 25 metres to Scuba divers.

The Cape fur Seal activity is available all year and anybody is welcome to join in on this activity.

Two teams with multiple balls line up against each other on a field of trampolines with angled trampoline walls. The rules are simple: if you hit an opponent with a ball they are out. Last man (or woman) standing wins and takes victory for their team.

This is dodgeball with a difference. Use the trampoline to leap out of the way of incoming balls or launch an aerial shot at your rival. Our dodgeball is the ultimate in airborne team sport and will leave you wanting more.

Get a group of friends together, form a team and join our Dodgeball League, or you can simply join a game in progress on 1 of the dodgeball courts.

Private Bookings
Why not rent a Dodgeball court for an hour with a group of friends or colleagues (subject to availability). We can accommodate any group size from 8-20. Dodgeball Rules
Each team should begin the game with an even amount of balls and players on each side.Once out you must exit and cannot re-enter unless a team member catches an opponent’s ball.

You are out if you
Are hit by a live ball
Throw a live ball that is caught by an opposing player
Cross into the central divide
Throw a head shot
Argue with the referee
kick the ball
You may block/deflect a ball with another ball, however if you drop the ball that you used to block with you are out.
When a ball hits anything besides a person the ball is dead. So a deflection off anything other than a person is a dead ball. You may catch a ball that hits you or another player on your team rendering the opposing thrower out, but only if it is caught in the air.
No holding a ball for longer than 10 seconds.
Only Rush sanctioned balls are permitted on the trampoline court.
You may catch the ball with any body part (between legs included).
When you are out you must walk off the court with hands wrapped around your head covering your head and ears to avoid up close head shots and stay in the waiting area.
Be sure to wear athletic clothing – you will get hot and sweaty!
Cancellation Policy
For Dodgeball court bookings you can cancel anytime up to 7 days before your scheduled date without being charged. Thereafter, you will be charged the full amount.

Remember, a Rush liability waiver is required for each jumper (those under 18 must have their waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian). If you arrive without a duly signed, completed waiver, we won’t be able to admit you (so hit the button above to get that sorted now). The waiver is on the waiver icon tab located on the right hand side of the page.

Rush Socks are compulsory and cost R30 a pair, but you can re-use them each time you come subject to safety approval.

Dodgeball

Our Rush referees will keep you Dodging, Ducking, Dipping and Diving for an hour fun. Excludes weekends, School and Public holidays. Rush Jump Socks sold separately. Let the games begin!
